Having learned through the generosity and kindness of many others, I try to “pay it forward” by teaching, listening to, helping, and mentoring others who work or hope to work in journalism, technology, media, and music.


Still eager to connect with the eager.


2009 - 2011, 2017-present

Adjunct Professor, Communications, Media and Technology, La Roche College, Pittsburgh, PA.  Teach courses in Broadcasting, Legal Issues of Media and Digital Communications.

1997 - 2008

Faculty Advisor, WDSR Student Radio, Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA.  The on-campus student radio station under the oversight of the Student Publications Board.  Advise and support the student managers of WDSR. Typically six managers and between 50 and 100 student volunteer workers. 

1995 - 2005

Director of Applied Media, Department of Communication, Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA. Coordinate resources for broadcast and media production for academic and student activity.

Courses taught: Newswriting and Reporting 1; Broadcast Newswriting; EFP/ENG and Video Production; Media Sales; Media Management; Broadcast Media Practicum.

1987 -1993

Adjunct Faculty, Communication, Grand Vally State University, Allendale and Grand Rapids, MI.

Courses taught: Audio Production 1; Audio Production 2

2000 - 2003

Curriculum Co-Chair, Leadership Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA.  Collaborate with Leadership Pittsburgh staff, LP Alumni and community partners to help provide a meaningful and valuable experience for LP participants.

Involved and In Service

Panelist/Presenter: Public Radio Conference, NAB Convention, PBS/NPR Online Summit, National Endowment for the Arts, Corporation for Public Broadcasting, NETA, Public Radio Engineering Conference, and other conferences on technology, media, financial management, economic development, marketing, music and other disciplines
